Information literacy is an art of learning skills in identifying defining and the information and its needs, approaches to locate the information and the behavior in accessing and evaluating the information in order to make use of the information for the perceived need. Hence, the study aims at covering the various types of information required by the women teaching faculty members particularly, in academic and research environment, the awareness on information access techniques and tools, behavior of scientists in access and use of information-resources, the techniques need to be imparted, the impact of information literacy on improving the productivity of women faculties/scientists were studied in detail. The study is limited to women teaching faculty working in the colleges, universities, and research institutions situated in Coimbatore, Erode, Tripur and Nilgiries. The respondent was selected by ‘simple random sampling techniques’ Data were collected from 440 respondents out of the total population of 2800 from the surveyed institution in the study area.600 copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the identified respondents and 450 filled in questionnaires were received among them 10 questionnaires were incomplete hence; the response of the sample size is 73 percent

Introduction: The aim of this study was to correlate anatomic differences with continence status in male patients after cystoprostatectomy and ileal neobladder using real-time magnetic resonance imaging. Patients and Methods: Anatomic differences of 14 male patients (7 daytime continent and 7 stress incontinent) with ileal neobladder were determined by measuring the orthogonal distance of the bladder neck to the pubococcygeal line (PCL) to correlate anatomic differences with continence status. Results: The median distance of the bladder neck to PCL was +5.4 mm in continent patients before voiding whereas in incontinent patients it was +2 mm (p = 0.012). During the Valsalva maneuver, the median distance in continent patients was +4 and in incontinent patients -3 mm (p = 0.003). At the end of micturition, the median distance was +2.3 mm in continent patients and -12 mm in incontinent patients (p = 0.002). Conclusions: The bladder neck in incontinent patients showed more pronounced mobility in relation to the PCL during micturition and the Valsalva maneuver as compared to continent patients. In addition, the ileal neobladder was positioned significantly lower in the pelvis of incontinent patients. These preliminary results suggest that a stable bladder neck may be an important factor to reach full continence in patients with ileal neobladder. Copyright (C) 2011 S. Karger AG, Base

This research examines the trend of thesis writing themes among History of Islamic Civilization students, Faculty of Social Sciences, in 2020-2022. The problems raised are the trending themes and their contributions to the development of Islamic historiography in North Sumatra. Therefore, this research aims to detail the trending thesis writing themes among students of the History of Islamic Civilization study program, Faculty of Social Sciences 2020-2022, and explain their contribution to the development of Islamic historiography in North Sumatra. The results show that the research themes selected are cultural history, archeology, biography, museums, architecture, education, political, intellectual, organization, art, and demographic histories. Furthermore, the most dominant theme is historical heritage and preservation efforts included in the scope of the archeology discipline, followed by traditions and culture in cultural history. The next themes are architecture, museums, literature, and biography, as well as political, intellectual, educational, organization, social, art, branding, and demographic histories. These themes have indirectly added to the references of Islamic historiography, particularly in local history research

A Career Success of the Distributors in Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Company

Nowadays, MLM Company around the world are highly developed, and companies especially in Indonesia have been using a system of direct sales to the consumers. The career structure in MLM Company has been very much acknowledged. However, not all MLM distributors are able to achieve the line of succession. The purpose of this research is to analyse the main causes of career success in MLM Company. This study uses both quantitative and qualitative methods. The selection of samples is carried out using a snowball technique which retrieved as many as 198 distributors registered at the Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Company in Medan, namely; PT. Herbalife Indonesia, PT. Orindo Ayu (Oriflame), PT. Sophi Martin Indonesia, PT. K-link, PT. Tupperware Indonesia and PT. Amway Indonesia. The result of the study finds that entrepreneurial competency and committment simultaneously have a significant influence to the career success of MLM distributors. Moreover, the study finds a partial relationship between the entrepreneurial commitment and motivation that has a significant effect on career success, while the entrepreneurial competency does not partially influence the success of career significantly. The results also show that entrepreneurial motivation is a moderating variable that is able to strengthen the influence of the entrepreneurial commitment to career success, as well as between the entrepreneurial competency and career success

Purpose: To formulate and characterize tizanidine hydrochloride (TZN) and piroxicam (PRX)-loaded bilayer mucoadhesive buccal films with an intention to improve the bioavailability and patient compliance in pain management. Methods: Bilayer buccal films were prepared by solvent evaporation technique using hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) 15cps and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP K30 as immediate release (IR) layer forming polymers and HPMC K15 M, PVP K 90 along with various muco adhesive polymers (Carbopol P934, sodium alginate, etc), as sustained release (SR) layer forming polymers. The prepared films werecharacterized for thickness, weight variation, folding endurance, surface pH, swelling index, mucoadhesive strength, in vitro residence time, in vitro drug release, ex vivo permeation and drug release kinetics. Results: The prepared films were of largely uniform thickness, weight and drug content. Moisture loss (%) and folding endurance were satisfactory. Surface pH was compatible with salivary fluid. Disintegration time was 85 s for F1 and 115 s for F2 of IR films. In vitro dissolution studies showed 99.12 ± 1.2 % (F1) and 90.36 ± 1.8 % (F2) were released in 45 min. Based on the above results, F1 was chosen as the optimum formulation to be combined with SR layer of TZN. Amongst the SR layers of TZN in vitro drug release. The findings show that of F2 was 98.38 ± 0.82 % and correlated with ex vivo release. Drug release followed zero order release kinetics and mechanism of drug release was non-Fickian type diffusion. In vitro residence time was greater than 5 h.Conclusion: The findings show that the bilayer buccal films demonstrate the dual impact of deliveringPRX instantly from the IR layer, with good controlled release and permeation of TZN from the SR layer, thus providing enhanced therapeutic efficacy, drug bioavailability and patient compliance

    Get PDF
Objective: The aim of present work was to formulate and evaluate Dasatinib (DST) loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) as a potential anticancer drug delivery system by enhancing its solubility. Methods: SLNs consist of a solid lipid matrix where the drug was incorporated. Surfactants of GRAS grade were used to avoid aggregation and to stabilize the SLNs. DST-SLNs formulations of varying concentrations were prepared by high speed homogenization technique and evaluated for drug excipients compatibility study, poly-dispersity index, particle size analysis, surface morphology, zeta potential and drug release features. Results: It was observed that DST-SLNs with optimum quantities of poloxomer: lecithin ratio showed 88.06% drug release in 6h with good entrapment efficiency of 76.9±0.84 %. Particle size, Poly dispersity index, zeta potential and drug entrapment efficiency for the optimized formulation was found to be optimum. Stability studies revealed that the entrapment efficiency of the SLN dispersion stored in 4 °C was stable. Conclusion: Thus, it can be concluded that formulations of DST loaded SLNs are suitable carriers for improving the solubility and dissolution related problems.Â
